Buying a new build, completing an extension, or finishing a refurbishment is exciting, but small defects and poor workmanship can easily go unnoticed until it’s too late.


With over 35 years’ experience in the building industry, Taylor Interiors provides independent snagging and quality control inspections designed to protect your investment, highlight defects early, and give you clear evidence to present to your developer, builder, or trades team.


We’re not surveyors and we don’t use jargon - just honest, practical expertise built on decades of site experience and a trained eye for detail.


 

What is a snagging inspection?


A snagging inspection is a detailed visual check of your property to identify faults, unfinished work or anything that doesn’t meet expected workmanship standards. It’s a way to make sure your home or project is completed properly before you pay or move in.


We compare visible finishes and workmanship against recognised standards such as:


  • NHBC Standards
  • LABC Warranty guidance
  • CIOB Tolerances in Building
     

All findings are clearly recorded in a comprehensive digital report, with photographs and comments that make it easy to understand what needs attention.

 Before you legally complete, it’s your chance to make sure your new home meets the standard you’ve paid for.


We carry out a full visual inspection, checking:

  • Walls, ceilings and floors for level, finish and cracks
  • Joinery, skirting, doors, and staircases
  • Kitchens, bathrooms, and fittings
  • Heating, ventilation, and surface finishes
  • External are

If you’ve already moved in, we can still help you hold your builder to account during the two-year NHBC warranty period.
We identify any defects that breach workmanship standards and provide a clear report you can send to your builder or warranty provider.

 Once your builder or developer confirms that snagging works have been completed, we can return to site to carry out a re-inspection (sometimes called a verification visit).


This visit confirms whether reported items have been properly rectified and whether any new issues have emerged since the original inspection.


You’ll receive a short follow-up report confirming which items remain outstanding.
